CCAS cats come from all over the country. They are usually stashed under the seat in the cabin of a plane on their trip to Colorado, but LuAnn has driven as far as eastern Iowa and Wisconsin to retrieve them. Once they get here, they are here until death do we part.
The application process is pretty simple. We have a waiting list currently and do not take emergency placements. Ours is a sanctuary, so all other prospects should have been exhausted. We do not take preemies, as we are not equipped to care for them. Likewise, cats that needs high levels of supervision are not appropriate due to lack of human resources.
Cats should be good with other cats, as they live in a group setting. We separate them into smaller groups of 2-4, but space for that is limited. There is also a Great Dane named Lincoln at CCAS. He is cat friendly, and all our cats must be able to tolerate him from a distance.
