Colorado Companion Animal Sanctuary (CCAS) is a place where all cats are special. We are passionate about the wellbeing of all animals – especially those with special needs. Our board and staff are comprised of unpaid volunteers who offer their time and resources as an altruistic gesture.
CCAS is a small sanctuary for special needs cats in the mountains of Bailey, CO, near Denver. Our journey began with one sweet kitty living with Manx Syndrome, and expanded from there. Our menagerie now includes six cats with Manx Syndrome, two cats with missing feet, one with a spinal cord injury and a little guy with hyperextended back legs.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to offer sanctuary and outreach services to special needs and homeless animals.
The Goal of CCAS: Our primary goal is to offer consistent care, comfort and compassion to companion animals with special needs.
Objectives for CCAS:
Ensure each animal has access to routine and emergency veterinary care.
Provide for the behavioral and emotional needs of the pets by utilizing graduate-level students under the supervision of a professional in their field and professional volunteers.
Link adoptable companion animals with loving and safe adoptive or foster homes, when appropriate.
Partner with vets, shelters and other animal welfare organizations for referral, partnership and resource sharing.
Offer sanctuary in a homelike environment with opportunities for each animal to get plenty of exercise, high quality nutrition and any special services or products required for their care.
